Martha Stewart Weddings →
No bigs. The ‘guestbook’ that Mara made for Lauren & Will’s wedding back in October has made it on to Martha Stewart Weddings.
So yeah, that is pretty cool.
Spending the afternoon poolside. Living in Virginia has its perks.
Rain, rain go away. We’ve had enough.
We are on the train heading back down south. It was a jam packed trip in New York City. Mara was so happy to have the chance to at least briefly see so many of our New York friends, stroll around the city, get some work done and spend time with her family.
We’ll actually be back in town in less than a month so don’t miss us too much NYC!

new squash courts coming to Charlottesville →
Grant is quoted in ‘UVa Today’ today about the new UVa squash courts that are going to be built. Three cheers for Coach White!
I also wanted to note never have I ever seen 4 people collectively DEMOLISH an entire lasagna like Amelia, Nico, Grant & Mara managed crush.
We’re busy bees today getting ready for some super fun house guests.
Brisket is the oven & soup on the stove. The house smells good enough to eat.
Passover cooking day one: matzo balls, raspberry applesauce, charoset & hard boiled eggs.
We are back in Virginia. We actually we back in town yesterday by 1pm with a stop on the drive back from the Richmond airport at the Trader Joes in Glenn Allen. By 1 we were wiped out. Mara was a bit grumpy and I spent the rest of the day keeping my distance.
Today is a brand new day and we are catching up on everything we didn’t do while in New England over the past week. Starting with...
It is pretty impressive to leave Boston and be back in Virginia before 11am. Just saying.

What a busy day yesterday was! We have a brunch this morning and then we have to go find the Bowdoin Orient before a quick coffee with Mara’s high school English teacher.
Please note she has mysteriously lost her voice and it is mildly amusing that she doesn’t know how to just not talk.
Career Planning: The Mara Sprafkin Story →
I am posting this link as Mara is in a fit of giggles. We are heading up to Brunswick, Maine next week. Mara has been invited to be on a panel at Bowdoin College to speak about women in the visual arts in honor of 40 years of women at Bowdoin. She is excited to head up to Maine for mud season and I am glad that mud season might have missed us with all the warm weather we have been having.

Kids, I’ve been an awful blogger. When Mara and were in NYC we were so busy with work and seeing so many friends. How’s guy going to find time to blog while he is running around the big apple chasing after Mara?
Well we have been in Charlottesville for a week now and I guess my lazy blog habit got the best of me. That is my only excuse.
Mara and Grant take off on vacation tomorrow...
The last hour on the train is without fail the LONGEST.
Amtrak back to Charlottesville. I hope I sleep for the entire 6 hour and 48 minute ride.

Last minute day trip to Philly to cheer on the UVa men.
I must admit, now that our internet is fix and we are fully functioning, it has been a really nice day so far of administrative tasks here in Brooklyn. We have the windows open, Mara spurged on a fancy coffee field trip, and we are being amazingly productive.
Go team.
Back and now fully functioning.
When we arrived in Brooklyn on Monday afternoon we arrived to non-working cable, phone and internet. This were a bit difficult only having phones to communicate electronically but as of yesterday late afternoon and 2 technicians later we are back up and running.
Now we can get back to all the paperwork and emails that have been put off since last week. Awesome.
We are Amtrak-ing up to New York City today. In fact we are almost there. We’re both looking forward to 3 busy weeks in the big apple working, wedding planning and catching up with everyone we miss.
I was a bit worried this morning that Mara might miss the train since she was insisting on waiting to pack till 7am and that seemed to be cutting it quite close for our early departure. But...
While I would like to spend Friday and Saturday building a meat stadium in anticipation of Sunday’s Big Game I think I am going to tag along with Mara and Grant to DC for some squash matches and a visit to our nation’s capital.
Maybe there will be time Sunday morning (with our packing for NYC) to build something cool.

Just to keep you all updated, the customer service in Charlottesville at the post office was much better however Mara got us lost twice on the way over. We never get lost in Brooklyn.
It is never a good idea to go to the Post Office on a Monday but we have no other choice. We have a mile of letters to send, artwork to get out and stamps to buy. I wonder if the trip to a Charlottesville post office will be more pleasant than if we had to go to a Brooklyn post office.
