Dogs have been added to ‘All Light is Electric Light’ over at Sustain. I’m sorry to not have posted photos sooner. Dogs were newish to us and since Mara has spent the past few days daydreaming about what she can draw in what windows next.

I’m a little late, I should have blogged this yesterday. Mara took a brief break from the upcoming show to make an old drawing new again. ‘No. Where Would I Go?’ (2008/2013) is headed to NYC for the Scholastic Alliance for Young Artists & Writers 90th Anniversary Benefit on May 31st. Everything old becomes new again.

Happy Monday. Today we take a short break from our regularly scheduled activities to go to law school. We’re spending the afternoon taking part in a mock trial. This classroom looks like a courtroom. It’s like ‘Law & Order’ LIVE.

We are busy printing and will be printing for the next few days. This our not very fancy printshop. Mara still hasn’t thought of a title for the upcoming show but I got the OK to officially name the printshop. Handler and Associates. Yes, that’s right, from now on everything we print will be printed by ‘Hander and Associates.’

Our top secret project last week were these masks for Dan’s 30th. I have some photos from the party, I hope to post a few later today.
Meanwhile, back in Charlottesville Mara and I are doing prep work so that we can start printing this week! We have been dying to start using the new screen and we’re almost ready.

I would like to take a moment today to brag about our AWESOME and AMAZING friend and former studio mate Thyra Heder. We are super excited about her upcoming children’s book that will no doubt be enjoyable for kids of all ages.

The truth is I have been very busy these past couple months writing and illustrating my book, Fraidyzoo. It was overwhelming, so exciting and well, the most work I’ve ever done on a thing. Fraidyzoo is the story of a little girl, Little T, who is afraid of the zoo but cannot remember why. To help her remember, her mom, dad, and excitable sister bring to life an over-the-top parade of zoo animals made from everything in their house. In an attempt to find what scares her, Little T and her family explore all the ways a home can become a workshop and hopefully show their reader that fun can trump fear.
